At the end of 2020, our trusted architect in Madrid, Ignacio Hornillos, needed to update his architecture project portfolio.
The idea was very simple:
I need something very simple, that ranks well in search engines, and where I can upload my projects and post articles from time to time.
Wordpress Selection
Ignacio knew exactly what he wanted from the very beginning, and it saved us a lot of time in research and proposal creation to discover the project requirements, since there are specific solutions for architecture in other content management systems.
In this case, he told us himself that he wanted to use Wordpress for its ease of use, and he provided us with a template that he liked and would adapt well to his needs, even though it did not meet 100% of the functionality.
While Wordpress may not be the best CMS for pages that require a large volume of data, it is the perfect solution for the case of an architectural website.
Development
With this information, we carried out some custom developments on the Wordpress template, adapting the functionality and design to the requirements.
Once the changes were reviewed, we migrated the content from the old portfolio to the new website, Ignacio provided us with the photographs and texts for the new architecture projects, and we were able to publish the new website within a matter of days.
