Olive Oils from Spain, a Spanish organisation with a global presence, had only two versions of their official website before 2015, both lacking a clear structure and distinct identity.
Their ambitious objective was to boost the consumption of Spanish olive oil in major international markets.
Our approach
To achieve this, we detected the need to establish an identity that would be instantly recognisable in various countries, essential for their new website planned to be available in eight different languages.
To this end, we conducted a thorough review of their website content and unified concepts. This led to the development of a content structure, which formed the basis of a diverse component kit. Building on this foundation, we designed the UX, taking into account the established structure and components. Subsequently, we crafted the UI for these components and integrated them, resulting in distinct pages for each section of the website.
This approach allowed for seamless implementation of changes site-wide, without the need for revising each page individually.
Furthermore, we opted for Drupal as the CMS, owing to its exceptionally robust internationalisation capabilities.
Results
The new system attracted millions of visitors in the initial weeks and significantly boosted the number of newsletter subscribers. The recipes section, featuring a specialised search system, gained immense popularity, contributing to an increase in social media followers.
Additionally, it streamlined the content management process for the organisation, reducing the time required to publish news, events, or recipes.
